Hi John,
sounds like you need to modify the font in the default template.
Look for "change default template" in the OOo Writer Help. You find the
steps you need to do.

Today (7 October 2005) I downloaded the OpenOffice 2.0 RC.
Since I am not sure to where to address my problem, I believe the
[email protected] was the best choice. If I am not correct please
forward it on to the right address with an info copy to myself so I am
aware. Thanks in advance.
My problem is that when the program opens, the whole page layout, the drop
downlinks and related information is all in what I believe is either
Cloister Black BT or Gothic font. It is very difficult to read in either
font, especially when the lettering is about 7 pitch, it is very hard to
distinguish an S or V or for that matter any letters with accuracy.
I tried to read through all the drop downs to see if there was some way to
change the format to Arial or Times New Roman Font, but could not locate it.
I tried to look up other helps, but to no success either. I even
reinstalled the program, thinking I missed something, but it reinstalled the
same way.
Also I do not know how to do some sort of print screen to cut/paste onto
this email so you could see what I mean, if my explanation was confusing.
I look forward to some assistance.
Sincerely,
John Albers
