David, What do you mean by macro interface? I haven't heard that term before in relation to OpenOffice. Maybe there is confusion as to what my question was. In Microsoft you had an option to display the legend and/or the data table for a chart, and I want to duplicate this in OpenOffice. No macros were necessary, it was built in functionality. Do you mean that this functionality is not present in OpenOffice and I need to use a macro to accomplish it?
Thank you for your help. I looked at what little info I could find on macro interface to charts - creation of chart goes like this... 1) Identify cell range to be charted. 2) Create chart. With macro interface - it is easy to identify cell range from whence chart was created. I'll play around with this this evening.
