Which OS? In 2.0rc2, Edit > Select All and Crtl-A with the cursor in
table selects the table for me. DEL deletes the contents and for
removing a selected table I use the delete row/column icon on the table
toolbox.

Perhaps the problem is OS sensitive. In that case, filing an issue is
probably a good idea. If you do let us know the number.
