First, it takes a lot longer than a couple of hours for the Debian packages to be available. The maintainers test them before releasing them; they don't just make the package and throw it into a repository. A couple of weeks to a couple of months is more likely, especially since Debian will undoubtedly build with GCJ to bypass the need to install Java, which is non-free. Second, Debian unstable currently has 1.1.4. One of the betas or release candidates is available in experimental, but, as the name implies, you're taking a chance using that.
