I have similar (but differncing) tables of 20 - 30 rows total counting
cca 1000 rows. I will copy them to Writer and comment. The border
creating is time consuming nightmare.

PS : I've created macros doing what I want but it is the same problem,
meno -> macro .....
There is a button on the right side of the formatting toolbar called
'Borders'. Also, right click on the thin button at the very right of the
formatting toolbar and select
visible buttons > line style
and
visible buttons > line color
Now you can select cells and use the buttons. Fast.
