Hi Dušan,

>> Question: Is there a FASTER and little bit less anoying way to create outline of tables with different thicknes and line stile, then right click, menu, borders ......

You can use a style to save the formatting once you've created it the first time. I'm not sure exactly what the borders are that you need to apply but you can mix and match a few different styles to get what you want. For instance, if you have three different types of formatting, like the top row with only horizontal single thick lines; the body with horizontal and vertical thin double lines; and the bottom row with a top thick horizontal and a bottom double thick horizontal, for you would create three styles: Top, Body, and End.

Here's how to do it in OpenOffice.org 2.0 Calc.

- First, format a group of cells the way you want them. Format the smallest group you can depending on how the lines repeat.

- Then choose Format > Styles and Formatting.

- Select the cells you formatted. In the Styles and Formatting window click the Cell Styles icon to be sure that's the kind you're going to create, then click the New Style From Selection icon. Name the style in the window that appears.

- To apply the style, select all the other cells where you want that same formatting, and in the Styles and Formatting window, double-click the style you just created.

To get that style into other documents, it's best longterm to create a new default template with that style in it. The help topic Changing Default Templates covers this.

In Writer, you would use an AutoFormat. Format the table as you want it, then select it, choose Tables > AutoFormat, click Add, name the format, and apply that format where you want it. Autoformats you create are available outside the original document so you wouldn't need to do the default template step.

HTH,

Solveig

I have similar (but differncing) tables of 20 - 30 rows total counting cca 1000 rows. I will copy them to Writer and comment. The border creating is time consuming nightmare.

Please advice

PS : I've created macros doing what I want but it is the same problem, meno -> macro .....
