hi.
i am using the base version of openoffice 2.0 mostly on linux but sometimes on
windows. the only thing i lack is the possibility to make openoffice display
date and times localized.
for example, in the Open file dialog the file dates are given on US-format, that
is 10/26/2005 for today.
however i would like OO to display the date on the format 2005-10-26.
on linux, i tried setting LC_TIME=sv_SE (export LC_TIME=sv_SE) but that didn't
seem to help. can i acheive the time localization without installing swedish
localization?
if yes, how.
if no, suppose i install swedish localization, can i still use english
interface, how do i set it up?
I recall this same problem with 1.1.x and don not think that it was
resolved as a configurable item. So what can you do? I would recommend
that you get the Swedish language pack, if available and install that.
THis will give you both in one installation. Next install the
appropriate dictionaries and fonts so you can mix languages.
This is more of a Linux issue than OOo but it would be nice to change
the localization as required. OOo has followed the MS office idea of
using the machine format for dates which may or may not be the
preferred format.
FWIW, I have been trying to get my Linux box to display ISO date
format by default for years. No success yet.
