Using Ctrl+A will select all of your WORKSHEET, which isn't what you want to
do. You want to select all of your data, not all of your worksheet. Actually,
as long as your data are contiguous (no column or row gaps within it), all
you have to do is select a single cell within your data. Then go to Data >
Sort and follow the instructions.

I tried ctl-A and then Data/Sort/Column C and it gave me an error saying
"Ranges containing merged cells can only be sorted without formats".

I have no clue what the error means.
