Several persons have reported this. Failure to unsubscribe gives a lot of bad will. I think this makes it a bug.
What the failing unsubscribers doing wrong? Can the handling program do anything better? Are the verification mails caught by spam filters? Can the unsubscriber miss the mail that need to be responded to? Is the subject easy to recognize among all other mails (e.g. "CONFIRM UNSUBSCRIBE)"?
