1. You can insert the 'page number' field, then righ clicking on the field and selecting "fields" you are shown a dialog box. On that dialog box (bottom right) there is a field titled 'off set'. In this box you can enter a value that you want the page numbers offset by.
eg, If you want to start the page numbering at 3, you would enter the offset to be 2 (1 + 2 = 3). Have a look at the inbuilt documentation surrounding "offsets" - there are some caveats to its use. 2. This could be due to the second paragraph having a different style that the first.
