Just so I understand this, you removed Outlook Express and Windows
dosn't know that there is another mail program installed on the system?
Do you have any other software with a "mail to" option -- Acrobat
Reader maybe?
It would be good to know if it was an Open Office.org issue or just
Microsoft being Microsoft.
Thanks
Andy

mmm interesting... It may pay to lodge a bug/issue with OpenOffice

It would seem that the root cause of my being unable to launch

OpenOffice is because I have removed the
jolly old Microsoft email program from my system. That has broken

I can do without it.
Ronald.
Using current 2.0 OpenOffice.
No great problem, I can cut & paste.
Maybe a re-install will help .

Interesting error message. There are some other people that are
having
the same problem (you can find these by searching the web using
google). They all seem to be pre-Version 2.0 however.
I can't remember, but are you using 2.0 OpenOffice?

Paul,
Thanks for your responses all.
1. How do I get to make a direct reply to your post. Maybe I am
dumb, but
I
can't see a response icon anywhere.
I have registered, but maybe it hasn't taken effect yet.
2. That's just the problem... Tools/send email returns an error. "A
MISSING
USER ACCOUNT, OR DEFECTIVE SETUP" Yeah, OK.
3. Recent crash, so I have just downloaded Java runtime again,
but not
installed. Maybe this is the problem, as I need it for spreadsheets.
Cheers,
Ronald.
G'Day,
I use Eudora, and can't send a message from Writer.
I am told to access tools/options/open office.org/programs
("programs"
may
not be quite correct, but you know what I mean),
But there is no item in the list for me to set up my email.
A search hasn't turned up much, except a reference to
Common.XCU, which I
am able to edit if I am told what to edit.
Anyone struck the situation?
Thanks,
Ronald.
