I have not heard of 'fokken' to hit.
It's an old Germanic root, almost certainly the origin of the word.
I have heard of the acronym, but from the little
research that I have done on it, the acronym came after the word. The acronym was
used in the military.
As a general rule, any alleged acronymic origin for an English word
prior to W.W.II is bullshit. (I say English specifically because other
languages, such as Hebrew, have quite a few.)
