Hi!
I have a spreadsheet file, created with OOo 1.1 almost 2 years ago. It has
now grown to about 2100 rows and every one of them contains formulas or
values. Maybe 20 columns are used in this spreadsheet.
I use the autofilter function sometimes and today I tried to do that with
the new OOo 2.0. I just selected one of the rows of the pop-up menu at the
arrow button and then I waited. And waited. And waited some more... then I
did the famous Ctrl-Alt-Delete and killed it. Next step was to open the
file with 1.1.5. This time it took incredibly long time, maybe 5-10
seconds, but at least something happened...
Now I converted the spreadsheet to the new ods format with OOo 2.0, opened
it again with OOo 2.0, then tried to use the autofilter again. Now I
decided to wait until it's finished no matter how long it takes, so I
waited. And waited. And waited...... About 13 minutes (YES, minutes, not
milliseconds!) later something happened on the screen. However it seemed
more or less dead. Didn't respond to any actions. Suddenly it responded,
but it seemed to be very slow. From pushing the down arrowkey until the
cursor moved one step down it took about 9 seconds! EVERY TIME! This is
totally unusable, at least for me.
Did anyone else experience anything like this?
I'm on a HP Pavilion ZV5000 laptop (it's not mine so I don't know about
exactly everything about it), Windows XP.
The spreadsheet file is somewhat less than 800 kB and, like I said, about
2100 rows. Shouldn't cause any problems, and it doesn't with OOo 1.1.5,
except that things take seconds instead of milliseconds of course.
I am just trying to figure out if there is something wrong with my system
or if I should file an issue.
