    Is your installation the Debian version or the one from 
www.openoffice.org? Do you have JRE installed (from www.java.com)? I use the 
OOo I downloaded from www.openoffice.org and am not having the problems you 
mention.
    Here is the URL to a slide show I created using OOo 2.0:
www.delewis.com/OOo/Simple_Presentation.odp. Download it and open it in OOo 
2.0. Click "Custom animation" to see if it will open. If not, you have a 
defective program. It should look like the last slide in the presentation.
