Hello again,

have tried all I can think of including the check boxes under
Tools > Options
OpenOffice.org Writer
tried unchecking "all" boxes...
tried checking only - Do not add leading (extra space) between lines of
text...

results are same... extra leading top & bottom of text ONLY when I change
border...
doesn't seem to happen when I create a text field in OO Writer... so?
must be some with the way the document is imported...

thanks to all...
jim

Jim,

I guess that to expand a bit more on the wise words of Uwe, you will find in
the compatibility options of writer a checkbox that does exactly what you
see as a problem. Actually there are two check boxes (2nd and 7th from top)
and I am not sure which one you need to deselect... maybe both to be on the
safe side :)

I still have problems with frames that sometimes are not (in OOo) where they
are supposed to be in MSO, but it seems to be due to poor coding of the
position of the frames in MSO.

Cheers,

Michele
