I think the build number and date should be displayed in the About box.
This
should be updated. I consider myself a sophisticated user, and I would
have
never thought to use the Ctrl sequence to verify. Most people are use
to being
able to go to the About screen and see exactly what they have installed.
Allow me to second this thought. I've asked basically the same
questions in a separate thread regarding a clean install. Why can't
the full version and build numbers be accessed in the program GUI
under "help" >> "About OpenOffice.org?"
