There is currently no filter for importing MS works files into OOo. The file format for MS Works is secret closed propriety format which MS refuses to disclose. Many of MS's own programs are incapable of opening Works files. Discovering the structure of MS file formats and reverse engineering them demands a great deal of time, skill and resources. OOo developers have limited resources and many demands for features and enhancements to be added to an already fine program. There is an existing RFE for this in Issuezilla http://www.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=8938 To add your vote for or comment on this issue go to: http://www.openoffice.org/servlets/StartPage and register.
