Hi Peter,
Since this is a users' list, replies are handled by regular people. We sometimes misread the content or intent of a message and other times are just having a bad day.

G'Day Dave,
Wow!
You really do come with both barrels blazing, don't you?
I'm abysmally computer ignorant, Dave and my cries for help are not intended to denigrate anyone or any thing. It means I haven't a bloody clue as to what is going on and how about some explanations, that those of us who use English, can understand?
What I found when I opened the programme - this after waiting through four/five
hours of downloading - gave me no understanding of what I had.
Suddenly I'm presented with a great list of things I can join but no indication of what
I wanted, which was, as I said, a "word" programme. (Please note the inverted
commas. It does not state/mention anything about Microsoft. That's your shit!)
As I mentioned, part of the problem was, and is, my ignorance of what I had downloaded.
My son sent me the site address because I had asked him for a "word/write"
programme which this new Mercury computer doesn't have.
The only other similar programmes with which I have any experience are
Wordperfect, Perfectworks and, of course, Microsoft Word.
Thanks for your attempts to help; I'm sure you meant well and the blast burns
will heal in time - so the doctors tell me.
Keep in touch.
Peter Shalless
