HI,

I thought I had this bullet and numbering thing down pat. But now, I realize I am fighting the feature with tooth and nail. Here is what I am experiencing:

I have certain styles that alway must use numbering or bulleting. For example, I have a style called Important which uses a bullet that looks like a start. I have another one called "List 2" which is slightly indented and uses a small bullet. I have other styles like that.

Now, when I create a paragraph using the Important style, then press Enter, the next style is, again, Important. If I want to change it to, say, List 2, I expect my paragraph to indent a bit to the right and I expect the bullet type to change. I *think* this is how it worked in version 1.x. But that's not quite what happens. The bullet disappears or it uses the same bullet as the Important paragraph.

There is something I don't understand with applying bullets and numbering. I took a lok at the Formatting with Styles document but it doesn't quite explain (to me, anyway) what is happening.

A couple of workarounds that I seem to have to use:

- Change my current paragraph style to "Default" befor applying the List or Important style - Click on the "Bullet On/Off" button twice. This works, however, if I am using a numbering style, this can break my numbering completely.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

L
