I have been on the phone with Bob, who is reasonably local to me and who
has ME with 192Mb of RAM, and we tried to install OOo2.0.1. Well
installation seemed to be good but when trying to launch OOo, it hung
about half way through startup according to the progress bar. We did the
following:
1. Completely uninstalled previous OOo2.0.1 installation
2. Took the machine off the Internet and disabled all virus
detection.
3. Installed md5sum and checked the integrity of the download
image. Okay.
4. Started OOo_2.0.1_Win32Intel_install_wJRE.exe
5. Took all defaults and the install did not complain.
6. Launched OOo from Start > All Programs > OpenOffice.org2.0
7. Hung
Any ME folk out there that could offer some advice?
