Is there a version of Open Office which will work on older iMacs (with

like to have it on my older machineas well.
Unfortunately, my experience is that such an operating system, of such an
age, will not be as useful or as able to run the newer applications of
today, which require rather "newer" features. Of course, if it is a matter
of OS 8.1 or something else, I highly recommend installing some form of
Linux/BSD on that system, rather than continuing to use OS 8.1. As another
post has pointed out, such programs as Mac-on-Linux provide the ability to
run MacOS on top of Linux, etc.
