Hi,

I do a lot of stuff in linguistics on my Linux laptop and OO.o is the best all-
around tool. I often need to draw phrae structure trees, and sometimes they get pretty complicated. Most of them require lines with arrows at the end pointing at some position in the tree. I usually do this in Writer with the Draw toolbar open. When a line is selected there is a drop-down arrowhead selection on the toolbar, and it works fine, except I can't figure out how to change the size of the arrowhead. They are way too fat. For example, I make the lines 1/2 point, yet the arrowhead will be a quarter centimeter wide. It's ugly and hard to keep the arrowhead from obscuring other details.

So where is the button to change the arrowhead size?

Maybe I misunderstood your question, but right-clicking on the line and selecting "Line" in the contextual menu will open a dialog where, in the "arrow style" side of the "Line" tab (right handside), you can modify the arrow shape on both sides of the lines, as well as its size. Hopefully that's what you need to customise the arrow look to suit your work.
