I do a lot of stuff in linguistics on my Linux laptop and OO.o is the best all- around tool. I often need to draw phrae structure trees, and sometimes they get pretty complicated. Most of them require lines with arrows at the end pointing at some position in the tree. I usually do this in Writer with the Draw toolbar open. When a line is selected there is a drop-down arrowhead selection on the toolbar, and it works fine, except I can't figure out how to change the size of the arrowhead. They are way too fat. For example, I make the lines 1/2 point, yet the arrowhead will be a quarter centimeter wide. It's ugly and hard to keep the arrowhead from obscuring other details.
