Because we don't have a version called OpenOffice XP :) Yes, PowerPoint (and also Word and Excel) can read files, that you create with OpenOffice.org, when you safe these files in the corresponding format (.ppt, .doc, .xls). Please take care of this, because the default-format in OpenOffice.org is the OpenDocument-Format, which can't be read by any application of Microsoft Office. Hope, this helps.
