Two questions. I will attempt to clarify the first one on TOC. I will
assume you have gotten as far as using Insert > Indexes and Tables and
have the dialogue box in front of you. Now, in the manual Step 2 there is
a reference to clicking an icon and this icon is displayed in the text.
It is a box with 3 dots in it.
??? I'm on page 104 "Creating a Table of Contents". No reference to an icon in step 2, and no display.
However, in the Insert > Indexes and Tables > Indexes and Tables, there is a "..." icon to the
right of "Outline". If I click that, I see that I can redefine the levels so that level 1 corresponds to
heading 2. level 2 to heading 3, etc. AHA! That does exactly what I want. I'll write something up.
As to hyperlinking, you insert hyperlink start and hyperlink end at the
appropriate places on Entries tab to define what part of the text you
wish to be a hyperlink. Click All to ensure that _ALL_ entries get
hyperlinked.
"Hyperlinks can be automatically assigned to the entries in the table of contents using the
following method:
"1. Go to the Entries tab page,
"2. Place the cursor in the structure row before the entry <E#>"
Does that mean "click in the box to the left of E#"? (Incidentally, mine says
"F#"!!)
"3. Click the Hyperlink button, then place the cursor after <E> and click Hyperlink
again."
Meaning "...click the cursor in the box to the right of E..."?
Inserting hyperlink start and end at the appropriate places is rather non-specific. Are the
answers to my two questions above "yes" and "yes"?
All entries are hyperlinked by default, AFAI see.
What is the panel of levels for?
If I do not click ALL, can I select individual levels to hyperlink via the pane
of levels?
What are the meanings of the symbols E#, E, T, #?
Thanks.
