There are several already: thunderbird & evolution to name but 2.
What is not as good as M$ is the integration between everything.

Errrm, yes & no. They might not be dumb, but many lack the confidence to
explore/try_things/... Before you should "it's obvious" please think that you
are the wrong sort of people - you are used to playing, ... Many people
[think: middle aged, only ever known one thing] are petrified of change.

I had my eyes opened recently when it was brought home to me that the ECDL[**]
really benefitted a lot of people, gave them confidence & reduced support calls.

So: yes - people do need training in OO to bring them from M$ Office.
