ROTFL!!! I don't know if it's so much the developers egos as the egos of whoever is on the forums and mailing lists. OpenOffice.org is one of the best (as in, the least amount of ego) about this - but some of the other lists and forums I've been on - boy howdy are there some big heads out there.
