     OpenOffice.org is freely available to everyone. You do not need to 
contact anyone to get permission to download and install it. Enjoy!
      There is one thing to remember though. Version 1.1.3 and 2.0 use 
slightly different file formats. (*.sxw for 1.1.3, and *.odt for 2.0) 
However, any text document you created using 2.0 can be saved in either 
the *.sxw or *.odt formats.
      One last point: you might want to suggest to the college that a new 
version of OOo is available.
