I've created a document with a cover page which contains no page numbers, then started page numbering in a footer, with page 1, on the next (second) page of the document. Everything works well, until I add the field for total page numbers to the footer, where I want it to read "Page 1 of x" etcetera, where the X represents the total numbered pages.

Problem is, there is a non-printing extra page somewhere between the first page and second page of the document. When I place the cursor on the first page, the info at the bottom line of the screen reads 1/11 (11 representing the actual pages in the document, including the unnumbered cover page). When I tap the down arrow key and move the cursor to the second page of the document, the info at the bottom line of the screen reads 3/11.

I've tried deleting the styles, and reinserting them. Nothing seems to get rid of the unseen page. When I try to print pages 1-2, only the cover page actually prints. The first numbered page prints as page 3, with the footer reading, Page 1 of 11, instead of Page 1 of 10.

I could solve the problem by eliminating the total page count, but I'd prefer to have the total page count show.

Reveal codes, as contained in WordPerfect and as discussed in some of the list email, might help me solve the problem if there's an extra page identified somewhere on the cover page.

Any thoughts about how to resolve this issue since OOo doesn't have a reveal codes equivalent?
