I'm pretty sure you have to "download" the whole program, BUT, after that
you can "install" just one part of it, like just Writer.  Am I correct,
anyone?

RE: PDF -- I have no problems sending PDF documents directly from OO Writer
(File>send as PDF>export>... then, your SMTP takes over to send the e-mail)
and my recipients can read as a PDF.  (P.S. I used to send directly from OO
as a "send as e-mail", but some recipients couldn't read them)
