If you cannot install OOo
Which Operating system XP Pro or XP Home?
Have you tried the OOo 2.0.2 with JRE??
I downloaded 2.0.2 with JRE included
and installed on XP Pro/AMD laptop.
Just downloaded latest OOo
on a XP Home with all updates installed on a under 500Mhz Presario
1) XP bundled WITH JRE
2) US-English
3) USA-ISC
4) Complete install option
5) click on the three MS file associations
The desktop Icon for I created for the previous version of OOo
did not work, so I deleted it and created a new one.
Works fine on XP Home and XP Pro both
with the latest updates including SP2

Eh -- I'd still like to get OpenOffice working on my machine. Is
anyone going to deign to tell me how to go about doing so?
