The problem comes when you decide to install 64-bit Linux. This is not yet really a problem for Windows users, because Gates & Co. has been kind of slow to release 64-bit versions of Windows. But if you run Linux the 64- bit versions have been out for some time. Still there are occasional minor problems, such as I encounter with OO.o on my Ubuntu-64 computer. (And it doesn't help that Ubuntu-64 is Debian based.) The latest version of OO.o that I can get is 1.93.129. It's very stable and works well for me, but I'd like to get the latest and greatest. Version 2.02 is not available yet in the repositories, so I sit and wait. Of course, just because you have a 64-bit CPU doesn't mean you must run a 64-bit Linux. The 32-bit versions install and run as well as they do on a 32-bit CPU. I just prefer the extra speed I get from going 64-bit, and the small sacrifices I have to make are worth it to me. --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] For additional commands, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
