I just repeated this outcome. I shut down the computer (without first shutting down OO.o Calc, which had a file open with unsaved changes). When I restarted the computer I clicked the icon on my desktop for the file and it opened two copies of OO.o, one with the unsaved changes and one that is apparently the last saved version.
