Hi,
OpenOffice is a rock-solid application.
In my experience, explicable crashes would suggest that there is
something wrong with your system.
It could well be a hardware problem - a little while ago I was plagued
by a range of mysterious problems that were eventually tracked down to a
'slightly faulty' motherboard!
I am also dismayed by the inordinate amount of time that it takes to
download the latest version of the software. Perhaps, one needs to do
something about it.
Yes, it does take a long time on a slow connection, and incremental
updates (as now offered by Firefox and Thunderbird in their latest
releases) would no doubt be a very welcome improvement for OOo users
with slow internet connections.
