You won't find powerpoint here, but you can download OpenOffice.org for free. One of its modules, Impress, will open, edit and save powerpoint files. Go to www.openoffice.org and click the 'download' button. Choose your language and operating system (if it's windows, pick the JRE version, that has the java runtime environment included) and pick any of the download sites; one that's close may be better. If the download speed is slow, cancel and try another site. Once you've downloaded the file, you'll have to unzip it, then run setup.exe that you'll find in the directory that you chose to unzip into. When your son has finished his project, make sure that he saves it in Microsoft powerpoint format.
