Is openoffice being run from the server too? Or do you have a local copy on the client? What does /var/log/messages show on the server and client machines just after you decide it isn't loading. What do you do to continue work? How many clients do you have? is the share real hard disk space? etc. etc. Please tell us and then we will be able to help you.
