Have you tried starting Excel first and then opening your spreadsheets
within Excel? (File > Open)
What you most likely have is a file association problem. Open help in
OpenOffice.org (OOo) and enter "file associations for Microsoft
Office" (without the quotes) in the search box under the Index Tab. (Click
the Index tab to access it.) Click the Display button at the bottom of the
window. It will explain how to change the file associations for all of
your MS Office files back to their respective MS Office programs.
To remove OOo from your computers, close the Quickstarter icon in the
system tray (near the computer clock). Then go to the Control Panel and
select Add/Remove Programs. OpenOffice.org should be listed. Remove it as
you would any other window's program using Add/Remove Programs.
One BIG warning though. If your web page creator program uses the
OpenOffice.org program to create web pages, removing OOo will also
eliminate your ability to create web pages.
One last question. Where did you get web page creator? I searched the
web and did not find it.
