This means, you're still using the version, shipped with your OpenSuse
distribution? My suggestion is, that you should try the current
(original) version. I know, that SuSE is adding some patches to their
version, so that your mistake can be caused by one of these patches. 

It shouldn't be a problem to have both versions on your computer, I have
here a similar situation: I have 1.1.5 and 2.0 delivered by Mandriva and
the current 2.0.2.
