Well, I just wanted to say thank you soooooo very much for helping me learn
something. I tried all the things the other 2 people suggested. Not! I
even uninstalled Open Office, stayed awake yet another night and
redownloaded it. Same thing happened. You would think the page would have
disappeared when I deleted the program and reinstalled it, but it still kept
coming back up on the screen and locking up my system. I was about ready to
delete it again and just give up and pay microsoft again!!! See, I got a
bad trojan, and a nasty hijacker in my system- they had over 30 different
links to banks, etc -- to make a long story short I finally managed to find
them in my system, and I guess the Feds are now going after them. (They
attached themselves to Spybot with a program called spybots, and so told my
system there were no viruses, etc, because it was a phony program! And when
I caught on, then they infected my memory with a virus. They also took over
my email accounts so that I could not connect and was denied access to my
system and told me I was not authorized. I never put a password in my
computer.
I found over 1,100 websites they went to on my computer that I never knew
about, some really gross stuff too, and highly illegal, kid porn etc.
Anyway, they disablred my printer after I started printing things - got a
little advice from anti-trojan dot org on how to track them down - then ( I
have windows Me on this computer, and they deleted data1.msi files so that
my microsoft office 2000 professional and all related programs no longer
work. And microsoft, instead of helping me, emailed me from support that
they I should buy the program!!!, because I haven't figured out what they
did to my system so that microsoft keeps telling me my system doesn't exiast
or is not genuine. Bull! Paid a lot of money for this, and I even
registered with them when I bought it! Which is why I was so grateful to
learn about office org, which I found by accident. The other computer I
have is windows 2000 professional edition.

Got carried away, sorry. So, I triede what your email suggested I do; that
too did not work. The window would not go up any higher so that I could get
to cancel. I tried for how many days now. The dam thing kept coming back
and locking the computer up. I thought well maybe because I checked the use
open office to open microsoft word and the other programs, that that's what
was screwing it up. So, I downloaded it AGAIN and stayed up all night
('cause I'm on dial up - I live in the boondocks - and this time, I did NOT
check use open office to work with microsoft word. Same thing happened.
Same thing! I could move the recovery window side to side, but even when I
did what you told me, the window would not go up so that that I could get to
the cancel button. It would show that it was moving, you could see the line
when I hit the arrow key but it just would not go any higher.
So I kept reading your instructions to figure out what to do, was I doing
something wrong? Screen resolution!!! So I went in to display, and
checked. It was set on 800x600. So I moved it to as tiny as it would and
voila! I could see the whole thing! But, it still came back even after I
did that. So what I did was restart the computer, then go to the smallest
size and then open Open Office . This time when the page came up and I hit
cancel, it worked!!!!!Hurray!!! So thanks for teaching something new. And
if anyone else ever this problem, we know how to take care of it. Hope they
have real good eyesight!!! Thanks again. I never knew what the heck pixels
were.

try to use open office I get a big page ythat says "click start recovery to
start recovery of document." Well, number 1, I deleted it. Number 2. I
couldn't click start recovery even if I wanted to. It is so big on the page
that I can't even find where to click it just to get rid of it. I even hit
f11 hoping to enlarge it enough to scroll down to where I could click
something to get rid of it. Still, it keeps coming back. I have even used
the repair feature, didn't work. I have completely uninstalled it. Came
back after I reinsatalled open office - I kept the installat folder on my
desktop. Even after I reinstalled it, same thing happened. Same page comes
up and locks up my computer. How do I get rid of it? I can't use open
office, and I have so much typing to do. I hate to delete the installation
folder from the desktop because to download it again takes sooooo many hours
and I always lose my connection before it's finished, unless I can stay up
all night to monitor.

Click the cancel button will stop the recovery process on the listed
files and never repeat the offer for those files.
