Hello readers - again =)

I am trying to get familiar with OpenOffice Impress (version 2) to
replace MS Powerpoint. For some reason, I can't manage to create an own
slide design template. I would like to create a full template for needs
of our company with proper background, logos and other similar elements.

I noticed that I can save an Impress document as a template and find it
at the template browser. I open a new document, go to Slide design
dialogue and then select "Load Slide Design" to select a template for
the design of the slides of a new file. Anyway, any elements created to
the template (logos, drawing etc) will not load to the Slide Design
list. The background colour of the slides will load, but none of the
elements.

Where can I find more information about how to create a customed Slide
Design?
