You will not be able to directly open an ".sxw" file in any Microsoft program. Since you are on dial-up, you can obtain OOo (OpenOffice.org) on CD. Go to: http://distribution.openoffice.org/cdrom/index.html#cdrom and locate a distributor in your area. The CD should cost ~US$10.00 Alternatively, if you have a friend/relative locally who has broadband, maybe they could download OOo and burn it to CD for you. If you urgently need to extract the content of these documents, there are a couple of ways this can be done. One requires some technical computer skills and would take too long to explain here. The other way is to download the Windows version of Visioo-Writer from this web page: http://visioo-writer.tuxfamily.org/EN/index_3.html It is much smaller (~3.5Mb) than the full OOo package. When you have installed it, you can open (not edit or print) the ".sxw" files in Visioo-Writer and export (ie. save) them as text files, then open them in a simple text editor (eg. Wordpad, Notepad, etc). Obviously, you will loose the document formatting, but you will have recovered the contents. If you need more help with this, please post to this list again. BTW: It would be appreciated if your emails did not include pretty colored backgrounds when posting to to this list. Hope this helps.
