     I am not sure what you mean by a text box. Is it one you have created 
yourself and applied to the slide. If so, the answer is likely No. 
However, the text in text boxes created by a layout slide are controlled 
by styles (F11). Specifically, they are controlled by one of these styles:  
Outline 1 through Outline 9, Title, and Subtitle.
     To know what you are talking about I need to see a sample of your 
problem in a *.odp file. You may send it to me off-line.
