Not sure I understand.

The layout of the text box that Impress generates automatically is inherited
from the slide master that you apply to the slide. So, if you want to have
several text box layouts available, the only way I know is to have multiple
slide masters. For example, I almost always use a slide master for the
normal slides and a slide master for the title slide (I guess MS Powerpoint
also has this default), but sometimes (thanks to some shortcomings of MS
powerpoints when exporting the presentation) I have ended up using 4 or more
slide masters.


Of course nothing stops you from changing the attributes of a text box on a
particular style as you wish (size/position of the box, attributes of the
fonts etc...) a trick you may need when for example you insert an image on a
slide and want to wrap the text around it.
