For the moment, you will have to save and send your Writer documents as 
.doc format files. You can make this the default save format if you 
always need to do this, but beware that you possibly degrade OOo 
formatting by not saving in native OOo formats.

      Continue to save your documents in OOo's native format. For those who 
have MS Word, follow your save with a "Save As" and select this File type: 
MS Word 97/2000/XP (.doc). Send them the .doc file. If you want to save 
space on the harddrive, delete the .doc file after sending it to the 
others.
