Crystle,

Thanks for your response.

I looked in the options in the spreadsheet program, and there is NO SUCH TAB;
however, if I start an empty word processing document, tuh duh!, there it is
(try it: it's not in the spreadsheet component)!

I did indeed turn it off from within the option inside the word processing
options tab; unfortunately, the problem remains in the spreadsheet program (it
still tries to suggest an autocomplete that I don't want, and I'm required to
press Delete everytime before I press Enter -- and this is all the more
irritating since I need the single character response and NOT the autocomplete
response 99%+ of the time!).

I tried to get creative and change the activating key from within the
autocomplete option in the word processing program, but it seems to have no
effect on the spreadsheet (Enter still activates the autocomplete in the
spreadsheet program even if it's turned off in the word processing option and
even if I change the activating key to a space or right arrow). Alas! I even
tried closing the program and restarting it after changing the options, and
though the option in the word processing program continuously shows
autocomplete is now off, it's still continuously ON in the spreadsheet and I
can't change the activating key either! Too bad, since this would have solved
my problem if it had worked.

Suggestion: The autocomplete tab should also appear in the spreadsheet
program, not just in the word processing component.

Thanks for your suggestion, but it doesn't work in the spreadsheet component of
Open Office, only within the word processing part! This is not only
inconsistent but it's quite an irritating feature (it's certainly not a time
saver for me!!!). Thanks for you most kind help though!

Thanks again!
Ron Keller
