Yes it's possible. You can do this in two ways: 1) There's a hebrew keyboard utilizing macros that will pop out a mini-window keyboard while authoring in Writer. I forgot who exactly the author was but you can search in oooextras for that. 2) You can change your input setting. This is OS dependent so search your OS's documentation about this. In Linux all I have to do is open a terminal and: $setxkbmap -layout il and start typing.
