[users] need to use microsoft word

Hi, I was told to go to this website in order to get information that will 
allow me to open a folder. You see I need to open a file using Microsoft 
word, which I don't have I use Microsoft Works. It's just one document that 
needs to use this program in order for me to open it, I don't want to have 
to spend 300 dollars on a program that I don't need. Is there anyway that I 
can open this up with Microsoft word without buying it. I don't know if my 
computer came with it, what happens when I try to open the file a dialog box 
appears and it says the command cannot be performed because a dialog box is 
open. Click OK, and then close open dialog boxes to continue. And when I do 
that it exits out of the file altogether.
