     A couple of questions.
     Are you logged in as lee when you have these problems? If not, you 
would have these problems. 
     Is there a hidden folder  ".openoffice.org2" in /home/lee?  Try View > 
Hidden files to view the hidden files and folders in /home/lee.
     You are right. Permissions are critical in Linux. That makes me think 
that something went wrong in how you set up OOo 2.0.2.
