Hi

I am new to OpenOffice.org.

In Impress the Format Paintbrush is not being activated when selecting
the text sample that should serve as a formatting model. In Write it
works fine! What might be going wrong here?

I am running OpenOffice.org v2.0.2 under XP.

That is because text in Impress is handled differently than in Writer. But you are going to have to be much clearer in explaining what you are doing. First, some information about the text you are wanting to change the style of: Is the text in a text box you created? Is it in a text box that contained the phrase "Click to add an outline" before you added the text? Second, some information about the text you are wanting to select as your style. Is it in a text box which contained the phrase "Click to add an outline" before you added the text? There differences in how you use styles in Writer and Impress. That is because Impress puts some restrictions upon how styles can be used.

As I am coming from (surprise) powerpoint I would have expected paintbrush to be ubiquitous. Anyway, in the specific case both, the model style to be copied and the text on which to apply it, are in the same text box of type "Click to add an outline" and, as I said, the paintbrush is not activated at all, i.e. its colour stays brownish.
