Hi all,

OK this is going to be tough to explain :).

I was running openoffice 1.9.129 kubuntu breezy badger I am now running
openoffice 2.0.2 kubuntu dapper drake.

I have a spreadsheet that I sometimes need to change the formula in. I USED to
do the following shortcut ...

amend the forulae in the top most cell
select all the cells beneath
cut them
click the bottom RHS corner of the top cell and drag it to the bottom of the
cut cells
a thin red line was drawn, when I released the mouse the formula were inserted
into the first tiny cell, the rest of the cells making up the width of the
top merged cell are blank
I selected the top cell
copy
selected all the tiny cells
paste
'you are pasting into cells ... do you want to overwrite existing data'
message - click yes
and the cells all become the same width as the top cell, job done - all cells
have the same formulae and are merged to the correct width :)

Now when I try ....

amend the forulae in the top most cell
select all the cells beneath
cut them
click the bottom RHS corner of the top cell and drag it to the bottom of the
cut cells
a thin red line was drawn, when I released the mouse the formula were inserted
into the first tiny cell, the rest of the cells making up the width of the
top merged cell are blank
I selected the top cell
copy
selected all the tiny cells
paste
and now I get 'text import' instead of 'you are pasting into cells ...do you
want to overwrite existing data' message
I click yes and my tiny cells on the LHS with the formulae in are not merged
with the cells to the right of them - I end up with a mess :(

Does anyone know how to make 2.0.2 act like 1.9.129 ?

Failing that is there a sheetwide search and replace for formulae or parts of
formulae ?

Any help greatfully recieved

Cheers

dave
